Happy 2010 Everybody!! I love new years. I need to post publicly- my goals. Where I am going this year, first I need to explain how I was lead to this road…how I began photography: it was as if God was telling me to pick up a camera; good things would happen. I felt something pushing me in this direction. Thank you God; you’re a smart man. There must be a reason why I felt inspired to do this…
This passion of mine caught fire and grew into a business; thanks to my family, friends & girls at the salon (I owe you guys a kiss).
I began looking at photographer blogs; who truly inspire me, there are a few- but one in particular. I had the amazing opportunity to do a workshop/ mentorship with Tiffany Burke of Follow Your Art Photography, and she truly is my Yoda. I adore everything about her work- her lighting/ editing is perfection. After her workshop; my family & friends noticed a change in my work- things have taken a turn for the better.
Thanks to my Mom- I cannot sit my butt down to relax. I found I passion I loved and I cannot sit until I have it mastered. Oh boy do I have a long ways to go!! I did not realize how perfectionist I am. I have a hard time accepting compliments because I really do not believe I am worthy of such nice comments, I have so much to work on. I have also decided not to look at other photographers blogs because it makes me want to hang up my camera strap & eat an entire sleeve of Oreo’s. My husband calls me ‘Chunk’ from ‘The Goonies’. Haha, its true people. You should see me do the truffle shuffle.
My goal for 2010… is to master my little goals that are the footprints to the place I want to be. I still love my job doing hair; I am rather attached to my loyal clientele, sorry my hair peeps- you are stuck with me.
Quite a few fun weddings already booked this year; I cannot wait for them! I will also be cutting down on the amount of sessions I do per week, each session is so personal and creative. When I am over booking myself; I lose a bit of my flare. I do photography because I love it- and I never want it to feel like my ‘job’.
Al of my clients, who have booked sessions with me in the last 16 months, THANK YOU. You are fabulous; I am going to reward you with deeper discounts this year. I appreciate you sticking with me from the beginning- you have grown with me; so I have such a love for you all. XOXO.
